MCCARTHY CONTINUES SUCCESS, PRIDE FALL 8-1 TO NICHOLS
Weston, Mass.Regis Colleges Megan McCarthy (Norfolk, Mass.) continued her success with her fourth consecutive win this season, but the Pride fell 8-1 to The Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Nichols College (5-0, 3-0 TCCC) Monday evening.

McCarthy is 16-0 dating back to the 2008 season against TCCC opponents. Competing in the number one singles position, McCarthy faced TCCC potential rookie of the year Jillian McQuiggan (Weymouth, Mass.). McCarthy would defeat the freshman McQuiggan 6-2, 6-2.
The two would meet again in the number one doubles position, but Nichols would take McCarthy and Kuchera 8-2. The Bisons senior Molly McGuire (East Sandwich, Mass.) would easily defeat freshman Caitlin Fitzgerald 6-0, 6-1. Giving Nichols its first match victory.
Nichols dispatched Regis in singles play with McGuire leading the way. McGuire is 3-1 overall this season, and 2-0 in conference play. Alexandra Cifone (Bristol, Conn.) and Megan Woodruff (Morris, Conn.) are both 5-0 after Monday's match.
Chelsey Miller (Salem, Conn.) and Cifone narrowly escaped defeating Georgia Cowart (Hopkinton, Mass.) and Caitlin Fitzgerald (Lynn, Mass.) in doubles play; Miller and Cifone would go on to win 8-4.
Nichols will continue its TCCC play when it hosts Wentworth on Sept. 16, Regis will host Curry College, also a TCCC opponent on the same day.
Nichols is conference leader with a 5-0 overall record, and 3-0 TCCC record.
