PRIDE FALL 3-0 TO CORSAIRS

Weston, Mass.-Captain Hilary Teichert (Pocasset, Mass.) led the way offensively as UMASS Boston beats Regis College 3-0 (25-9, 25-10, 25-21) Friday.

Regis College (9-12, 3-4 TCCC) could not handle Teichert's hard attacks in game one.  Captain Mellanie Staiger (Bournedale, Mass.) set her teammates up to help UMASS-Dartmouth (8-8, 1-2 LEC) pull away with a 25-9 win.

The second game showed a similar outcome as the Pride lost 25-10.  This time, Teichert was joined by freshmen teammate Cami Ascher (Natick, Mass.) as a strong offensive presence on the court.

Despite a 6-0 run by the Corsairs, Regis looked to two veterans to lead the pack in game three.  Senior Tori Dunham's (Plymouth, Mass.) defensive effort kept the Pride close.  Dunham registered eight digs, while teammate Samantha Reyes (Attleboro, Mass.) tallied four aces.  The play was not enough as Regis fell 25-21.

Regis College heads to Becker College Oct. 11, while UMASS-Dartmouth travels to Salem State.
