PAGE LEADS ALL SCORES IN REGIS SEASON OPENER
Weston, Mass.Regis College opened its 2009-10 season with an 83-61 victory over Mt. Ida College, a non-The Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Sunday. The Prides Jessica Page (Quincy, Mass.) led all scorers with 24 points.

Page and teammate Brittany White (Dorchester, Mass.) accounted for more than 50 percent of the Regis scoring offense. Two Mustangs tallied double-figure scores against the Pride defense.
Nicole Casimiro (Lee, N.H.) and Cherie Parisi (South Attleboro, Mass.) finished with 20 and 10 points respectively.
"Nicole shot well from the floor," said Leah Lipschitz, the Mustangs assistant head coach. Casimiro was 8-of-15 from the floor (53 percent).
No Mt. Ida College player had a free throw attempt on the night. Regis was 26-of-39 (66 percent) from the charity stripe.
Parisi shot better than 35 percent from the floor, and led all Mustangs with nine total rebounds on the night.
Regis opened with a 14-0 run until Katie Morvan (Northbridge, Mass.) scored off a Jeileen Rivera (Springfield, Mass.) assist.
Page, a 2008-09 All-TCCC Second Team member, scored 24 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the floor. She was 60 percent from the free throw line (3-of-5).
"Our defense created our offense," Page said. Regis created 26 Mt. Ida turnovers.
White finished with 20 points, eight rebounds, and six steals in 28 minutes. Half of White's points came from the free throw line.
Regis' Stephanie Wozmak (Auburn, N.H.) contributed 14 points for the Pride, 12 off of three-pointers. She was 80 percent from behind the arc.
Mt. Ida cut into the 21-17 Regis lead with a three-pointer from Jenny Davis (Bristol, England). A steal by Ashley Boyd (Hanson, Mass.) setup Rivera to take a three-pointer and cut the lead to one.
The Pride regained a two-point lead on a Sarah McNult (Hampstead, N.H.) jumper. Regis had a 24-point lead, its largest of the night, with 1:22 remaining in the game.
