PRIDE HAVE RECORD-SETTING DAY AT NEISDA
Regis College had a record-breaking start to the New England Swimming and Diving Championships held in White River Junction, Vt. on Friday night. The men’s team currently sits in fifth place out of 13 teams, while the women’ s team is 18th out of 22 teams.
WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. – Regis College had a record-breaking start to the New England Swimming and Diving Championships held in White River Junction, Vt. on Friday night. The men's team currently sits in fifth place out of 13 teams, while the women' s team is 18th out of 22 teams.
On the men's side, the 200 free relay team of AJ Graf, Nick Yerzyk, Zack Earl and Djordje Mandic broke the Regis record with a time of 1:27.59. The Pride also set a new record in the 400 yard medley relay as Djordje Mandic, Stephen McGovern, Nick Yerzyk and AJ Graf with a time of 3:40.89. Mandic continued his strong day in the pool as he set records in the 50 yard freestyle (21.38) and the 100 yard backstroke. Zach Earl set the new record in the 500 yard freestyle (4:57.52).
For the women, Haley Bowen finished ninth in the 50 yard breaststroke with a time of 32.96. Bowen's time helped keep the Pride ahead of Western New England, St. Joseph's, Husson and Norwich.
