NEAL EARNS TCCC HONORS

Weston, Mass.-Known around campus as just "Smooth," sophomore Derrick Neal (Boston, Mass.) has quickly become a fan favorite at basketball games. Neal is even making an impression in the minds of Commonwealth Coast Conference teams with its announcement of Neal to the TCCC All-Conference Second Team.

Neal ranked in the top 10 in five categories in 2008-09. Known as a three-point threat, making 44 percent of his attempts, he can also use his speed and quickness to maneuver past defenders and get to the paint.

Neal placed fourth in the conference in scoring with 411 points, and averaged 17.1 PPG.

Against Anna Maria College, Neal spotted up to sink 15 points within the first 3:30 of the game. He posted a career-high 31 points in a win against conference foe Endicott College 80-69.

Defensively, Neal ranked second in steals with 61, an average of 2.54 per game.
