Pride Honored Their Seniors In Matchup With GNAC Neighbor Emmanuel
WESTON, Mass. -- Regis men's lacrosse welcomed Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) neighbor, Emmanuel College (Mass.) to Regis Stadium tonight for a senior night battle. Although the Pride fought til the very end, they'd fall 14-9 in tonights contest. With the loss the Pride's record for the regular season finishes at 5-8, 4-7 in GNAC play.
Devon Hammon stood tall in net registering 17 saves, on the offensive end, Nick Klein had a three-goal hat-trick.
Cole Cloney took over offensively for the Saints, with seven goals and four assists.
How it Happened
The First quarter would start in a stalemate until Cloney would pace the Saints in the early going with a goal and an assist to put saints ahead 3-0, Devin Hammon made five first quarter saves to keep the Saints lead at bay for the most part.
A Klein goal to come out of the second would break the shutout a start the scoring for the Pride, a tally that would tie the single-season scoring mark. However from there it once again would be all Cloney from Emmanuel, who recorded four of their five second quarter goals. His run would be stopped with 4:31 to play in the half, when Matt Cabassa found Luke Meelia in a man-up situaiton to make it a 8-2 game at the break.
In the third frame, Regis' offense would go on a 4-1 run sparked by a Alex Dougenik goal and then followed by Ian Brown back to back goals for the Pride at the 4:42 mark to make it 13-7 game going into final frame.
The Pride continued to mount their rally in the fourth when Devin Hammon cleared the ball down field to Brown who soldified his hat trick and made it 13-8 game. Over the next six minites Brandon Shuman aand Klein would both find back of net to keep Saints lead at five with 6:50 to play. Although the Pride made things interesting, their comeback would fall short 14-9.

- Prior to the game the Pride celebrated their seniors: Colin McGarry, Nick Haffty, Nick Klein, Matt Cabbassa, Dylan Slichko, Devin Hammon, and graduate student Owen Harney
- With the Second goal of game, Klein set a new single season goal mark.
- At the close of the regular season, the Pride have secured their first playoff berth since the 2016-2017 season, and first appearance since being part of the GNAC.
