Women's Swim and Dive Takes Third Overall in GNAC Championships
WORCESTER, Mass. — The Regis women's swim and dive team concluded the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships on Sunday with a strong third-place finish, earning 571 points. They trailed the University of Saint Joseph (699.5) and champion Norwich University, which finished with 1,058.5 points.
Inside the Numbers
- Sophia Caruso continued her standout season with another record-breaking performance, touching the wall in the 100 freestyle in 52.55, surpassing the previous program record by 0.18 seconds. She later added her second first-place finish of the meet in the 100 backstroke, posting a personal best of 1:02.00.
- Sophia Nylin contributed a bronze in the 50 backstroke, setting a personal best with a time of 34.14.
- Ava Hubster scored valuable points for the Pride in the 1,650 freestyle, finishing fourth overall with a time of 20:26.10.
- Hubster and Jenna Silva also represented Regis in the 200 butterfly, earning second and third-place finishes, respectively. Hubster touched in 2:39.69, while Silva recorded a personal best of 2:45.94.
- The Pride will graduate seniors Jenna Silva and Vera Rivard.
