Men’s and Women’s Swim & Dive Sit Third After Day One of GNAC Championships
WORCESTER, Mass. – The Regis College swimming and diving teams kicked off the 2026 GNAC Championships this evening. Overall, the women's side collected 193 points while the men earned 46 points as both squads sit in third place heading into day two.
Women's Team
- Regis opened the meet with a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, as Emma Tirri, Sophia Nylin, Ava Hubster, and Sophia Caruso combined for a time of 2:03.01, earning valuable early points for the Pride.
- In the 400-yard individual medley, Regis placed two swimmers inside the top six. Vera Rivard led the way with a fifth-place finish (5:53.13), followed closely by Jenna Silva in sixth (6:01.33).
- Caruso earned a podium finish in the 200-yard freestyle, touching second at 1:59.62 for second overall, a personal best for the rookie that moved her up to third all-time in program history.
- In the 50-yard butterfly, Silva finished eighth in the A final with a time of 33.73.
- Hubster secured third place in the 1000-yard freestyle (12:11.49), marking Regis' second medal of the night.
- The evening closed with the 400-yard freestyle relay, where Nylin, Silva, Hubster, and Caruso placed fourth in 4:05.21.
Men's Team
- The Pride's men also opened strong on Friday, earning multiple podium finishes and top-six swims.
- The 200-yard medley relay team of Gavin Olsen, Ryan Kim, Andrew Martin, and Nagaraj finished third with a time of 1:50.69.
- Olsen touched sixth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.48).
- In the 50-yard butterfly, Martin posted a sixth-place finish (27.47).
- Kim earned a bronze medal in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing at 1:01.06.
- Nagaraj added another bronze in the 200-yard backstroke (2:10.82).
- Olsen closed the night with a fifth-place swim in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:33.52).
