Klein Notches 100th Career Goal Despite Loss To Monks
STANDISH, Maine -- Men's Lacrosse were on the road today, taking on the Monks of Saint Joseph's Maine. The Pride's defense would'nt be able to hold up, falling in this one 16-6. with the loss the Pride's record falls to 4-5, 3-4 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference.
Devin Hammon led the way defensiely for the Pride, tallying 17 saves while Nick Klein added four goals and an assist in the effort.
For the Monks, Joseph Kiedaisch had four goals and four assists in route to his teams win.
How it Happened
The Pride fell behind early as Saint Joseph's came out strong, controlling possession and building a quick lead. Regis battled back late in the first quarter, with Ian Brown scoring off a feed from Nick Klein, followed by a buzzer-beater from Luke Meelia to cut the deficit to 6-2.
In the second quarter, Regis showed flashes of momentum, including a man-up goal from Klein, but struggled to contain the Monks' offensive pressure and fell further behind, trailing 10-3 at halftime.
Despite the early deficit, Regis continued to fight in the second half. Klein led the effort with multiple goals, including another man-up score, and added an assist to keep the Pride competitive in stretches. Goalkeeper Devin Hammon made several saves under heavy pressure, providing a steady presence in net.
However, turnovers and clearing struggles allowed Saint Joseph's to maintain control, and Regis could not mount a sustained comeback.
Klein, Brown, and Meelia were key contributors for Regis, showing effort on both ends of the field, but Saint Joseph's dominance proved too much.
