Endicott Outpaces Men's Basketball, 77-61
WESTON, Mass.-- The Pride were back in action tonight after a brief break for last week's holiday, taking on the Gulls of Endicott College. Great defense and a strong run to begin the game would be all the Gull's needed to take home the victory. With tonight's loss the Pride men's basketball team falls to 5-3 Overall.
Jamir Harvey (Robbins, Ill.) would continue to lead this Pride offense with 14 points with Devon Reid (Queens, N.Y.) adding 10 points off the bench.
For the Gulls, Elijah Kinney would lead the way with a 25 point and 16 rebound double-double.
How it Happened
The Gulls would waste no time putting the Pride in an early deficit, starting the game on an impressive 19-0 run. Regis created several early opportunities around the rim and on the permitter but struggled to convert, missing a series of layups and three-point attempts that prevented them from finding any offensive rhythm. Still, the Pride showed resilience as the half progressed. While the early deficit put Regis in a difficult position, contributions from their bench including Devon Reid and Ned Fitzpatrick (Providence, R.I.) kept their first half deficit to just 36-21.
Regis opened the second half with renewed energy, creating several second-chance opportunities right away. Jamir Harvey would lead the way for the Pride in the second half with 10 points, but Endicott's defensive discipline would hold off any Regis chance at coming back in this one. The game would end 77-61 in Endicott's favor.
Inside the Numbers
- Geovane Meikle (Edgartown, Mass.) registered his first collegiate bucket on a free throw.
