Regis Women’s Track & Field Collect Five Podium Finishes on Day Two and Place Fifth at GNAC Championships
STANDISH, Maine -- The Regis College Pride women's track and field team collected five podium finishes on day two and finished fifth overall with 54 points at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships, hosted by Saint Joseph's College of Maine.
Emmanuel College claimed the team title with 211 points, followed by Saint Joseph's College of Maine in second with 198. Colby-Sawyer College placed third with 86 points, while Lasell University took fourth with 59. Simmons University rounded out the standings in sixth with 40 points.
Inside the Numbers:
- True to form all season, Zoe Kirk earned the first podium finish of the day for the Pride women, capturing the GNAC title in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.86—finishing .5 seconds ahead of the next competitor.
- Grace Micklon secured the Pride their second highest finish of the day with runner-up in the pole vault, clearing 2.45 meters.
- Aleyo Amasa-Titus secured another podium finish for the Pride in the 200 meters, placing third with a time of 27.32, just a fraction behind the runner-up.
- In the triple jump, first-year Sophia Anderson earned her first career GNAC podium finish with a leap of 10.25 meters, the second-best mark by a first-year in program history.
- The 4x400 relay team of Olivya Bush, Hannah Griffin, Julia Benvegnu, and Aleyo Amasa-Titus took third in 4:22.36, recording the second-fastest time in program history with a lineup that featured three first-year student-athletes. The 4x100 relay team of Zoe Kirk, Lily Griffin, Olivia Dench, and Aleyo Amasa-Titus followed with a fourth-place finish in 51.68, posting their fastest time of the season and the third-fastest mark in program history.
- Olivia Dench and Julia Benvegnu also contributed points in the sprints, with Dench placing in the 100 meters (13.56) and Benvegnu scoring in the 400 meters (1:06.86).
The Regis College Pride will send a small group to the New England Outdoor Track & Field Regional Championships on May 2, 2026, continuing postseason action following a strong showing of individual performances.
