Women's Track and Field Earn Third-Place Nod in GNAC Coaches Poll
WESTON, Mass. — In voting conducted by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) coaches, the Regis women's track and field team narrowly edged Colby-Sawyer for third place, earning 22 total votes. Reigning champion Emmanuel claimed the top spot, followed by Saint Joseph's (Maine).
The Pride feature a talented young core that has made an immediate impact this season.
On the track, Julia Benvegnu ranks among the top five in the GNAC in the 60 meters, 200 meters, and 400 meters. Hannah Griffin sits in the top 10 in both the 400 and 800 meters, while Lily Griffin ranks in the top 10 in the 60 and 200 meters.
Contributing on both the track and in the field, Zoe Kirk has delivered an impressive debut season. She owns the second-fastest time in the GNAC in the 60-meter hurdles at 9.78 seconds and ranks third in the high jump with a program-record mark of 1.50 meters. Kirk also sits third in the conference in the triple jump with a leap of 10.24 meters.
The Pride will also rely on veteran leadership from Aleyo Amasa-Titus, Isa Clark, and Grace Micklon, all of whom bring GNAC Championship experience.
Under first-year head coach Kiera Murray, Regis has been peaking at the right time and will look to climb the standings when competition begins Sunday at Boston University.
