Friday Filled with Personal Bests for Women’s Track & Field
BOSTON, Mass. — The Regis College women's track and field team split up on the day, with one group competing at the Boston University Terrier Classic and the other taking part in the Roxbury Community College Tigers Open.
BU Terrier Classic
- In the 400, both Julia Benvegnu and Hannah Griffin recorded performances that placed them among the program's all-time top ten. Benvegnu clocked a personal best 1:03.56, good for third fastest in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) this season and sixth all-time for the Regis indoor program. Griffin finished in 1:04.00 to rank seventh in program history and fourth this season in the GNAC.
- Hannah Griffin capped off a strong day in the 800 meters, finishing in 2:32.78. Her time ranks fourth all-time in program history and is the second-fastest ever by a first-year student-athlete.
- Olivya Bush and Lily Griffin broke into the program's indoor top ten in the 200 meters with personal best times of 28.08 and 28.16, respectively. Bush now ranks eighth all-time, while Griffin sits at tenth.
- Benvegnu led the Pride in the 60-yard dash, finishing in 8.56 seconds, just ahead of teammate Lily Griffin, who crossed the line in 8.58. In the same event, Christie Derival posted a personal best of 8.75 seconds, improving her previous mark by 0.11 seconds.
RCC Tigers Open
- Zoe Kirk set a personal best in the triple jump with a fourth place leap of 10.24, enough for third all-time in program history and in the GNAC this season. In the same event, Grace Micklon also turned in a personal best of 9.32 meters before turning in a season-best in the pole vault with a mark of 2.30 meters.
- Lily Sedam recorded a personal-best throw of 7.98 meters in the weight throw and also competed in the shot put, achieving a mark of 8.49 meters.
