WOMEN’S TENNIS SWEEPS FIRST PLACE IN PRESEASON POLL
The defending conference champion Regis College women’s tennis team was unanimously selected to finish first in the New England Collegiate Conference according to the 2015 NECC Women’s Tennis Coaches Poll. The Pride received 36 points and all six first place votes in a poll conducted by league head coaches.
WESTON, Mass. – The defending conference champion Regis College women's tennis team was unanimously selected to finish first in the New England Collegiate Conference according to the 2015 NECC Women's Tennis Coaches Poll. The Pride received 36 points and all six first place votes in a poll conducted by league head coaches.
The Pride are coming off their third straight conference championship. The squad also has a 26 match conference win streak dating back to 2012. Their last loss was against Becker on October 1, 2012. The Crimson and Gold are looking for their fourth consecutive appearance in the NECC Championship game
Regis is returning seven players from last season's championship team including NECC Player of the Year Jessie Lord (Fall River, Mass.) and All-NECC selections Erica Murphy (Portsmouth, N.H.), Jewel Medeiros (Rochester, Mass.) and Emily Rice (Pittsfield, Mass.).
Rounding out the preseason polls was Becker, Lesley, Bay Path, Mitchell and Newbury
