REGIS WOMEN’S TENNIS ANNOUNCES 2014 SCHEDULE
After an 11-2 season a year ago that included the Pride’s second-straight New England Collegiate Conference Championship, the Regis College women’s tennis team has announced its 2014-15 schedule.
WESTON, Mass. – After an 11-2 season a year ago that included the Pride's second-straight New England Collegiate Conference Championship, the Regis College women's tennis team has announced its 2014-15 schedule.
The Pride will play a pair of non-conference matches before entering their 10 game NECC slate of games with the NECC Tournament beginning on October 15, and the Championship on October 18.
Regis opens its schedule on September 4 when the Pride hosts Eastern Nazarene College. The Pride defeated the Lions, 5-4, in a non-league match last season. A week later, the Pride welcomes Johnson & Wales University to Weston, Mass. for a non-conference match at 5:00 p.m. The Wildcats were only one of two teams to defeat Regis last season.
Dating back to the 2011-12 season, the Regis women's tennis team is 22-6 during the NECC regular season play and has qualified for the post season every single season with a Semifinal appearance in 2011, and back-to-back Championships in 2012 and 2013.
The Pride travel to Becker College on September 13 for their first NECC match of the season. They will then host Lesley (September 16) and Bay Path College (September 20) before hitting the road on September 24 for a match against Newbury College. The September 20 match against the Wildcats is a rematch of last season's NECC Championship game, a 7-2 win for the Pride.
Regis returns home on September 27 for a match against Mitchell that will be a part of Pride Fest 2014. Three days later the Pride will host Becker College at 5:00 p.m.
The month of October is road-heavy for Regis as they will play three of their final four matches on the road. October 2 sees the Pride travel to Lesley University, and on Saturday, October 4, the Pride will travel to Bay Path College for their second matchup of the season with the Wildcats. The Pride's lone home match of the month comes on October 8, and Regis wraps up the regular season on Friday, October 10, at Mitchell College.
