Regis Women’s Soccer Announces 2022 Schedule
2022 REGIS COLLEGE WOMEN'S SOCCER SCHEDULE
WESTON, Mass. – Coming off a winning 2021 campaign that included qualification for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament, the Regis College women's soccer program has finalized its 2022 competition schedule, featuring a five-match homestand in the middle of the season.
The Pride open the regular season with road matches at Emerson Thursday, Sept. 1, and at Curry Saturday, Sept. 3. Regis begins its home slate with a non-conference contest against Keene State Wednesday, Sept. 7, the first meeting ever between the Pride and the Owls.
The 13-match GNAC schedule starts for Regis with a road match at Albertus Magnus Saturday, Sept. 10. The Pride will then play two contests in three days, hosting Rhode Island College Wednesday, Sept. 14, before traveling to face Norwich Friday, Sept. 16.
Regis' five-match homestand begins against Anna Maria Wednesday, Sept. 21, followed by a clash against defending GNAC champion Johnson and Wales during Regis Fest Saturday, Sept. 24. The Pride will also host Rivier Wednesday, Sept. 28, Colby-Sawyer Saturday, Oct. 1, and Lasell Wednesday, Oct. 5.
The Pride play four of their next five matches on the road, beginning at University of Saint Joseph Saturday, Oct. 8. After facing Simmons away from home Wednesday, Oct. 12, Regis hosts Elms Saturday, Oct. 15, before traveling to take on Emmanuel Wednesday, Oct. 19, and Saint Joseph's College Saturday, Oct. 22.
The final match of the regular season will see Regis host Dean Wednesday night, Oct. 26. The top eight teams in the GNAC regular season standings will qualify for the postseason conference tournament, with quarterfinals taking place Saturday, Oct. 29, followed by semifinals Tuesday, Nov. 1, and the championship match Saturday, Nov. 5.
Regis compiled an 8-6-2 overall record in 2021, including a 7-4-2 mark within the GNAC, tying the program record for most conference victories in a single season. The Pride finished in a tie for sixth in the league standings and qualified for their third straight GNAC Tournament.
Regis College sponsors 20 intercollegiate sports, including women's soccer, within NCAA Division III as part of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.
