PRIDE SWEEP WEEKLY AWARDS
Regis College junior goalkeeper Rachel Gagnon (Ashford, Conn.) has been named this week's New England Collegiate Conference women's soccer Player of the Week, while teammate freshman midfielder Olivia Hamill (Sudbury, Mass.) has been named the Rookie of the Week, it was announced Monday morning.
WESTON, Mass. – Regis College junior goalkeeper Rachel Gagnon (Ashford, Conn.) has been named this week's New England Collegiate Conference women's soccer Player of the Week, while teammate freshman midfielder Olivia Hamill (Sudbury, Mass.) has been named the Rookie of the Week, it was announced Monday morning.
Gagnon started in net during two games this past week for the Pride. During the Wednesday October 29th contest against conference foe Newbury, Gagnon made one save during the 1-0 shutout win. Gagnon continued her hot streak against another conference rival, Southern Vermont on Saturday November 1st. Gagnon made six saves during the 1-0 shutout victory. Gagnon finished the season 10-5-2 and has recorded eight consecutive shutout victories.
Hamill started and played in two games for the Pride this past week. Her best game came on October 29th when she scored the game-winning goal in a crucial conference match-up against Newbury College. The goal was Hamill's fourth of the season and she now ranks third on the team in goals and points (10).
Regis finished the season with a 10-5-2, 7-2 NECC mark and will welcome Newbury back to campus tomorrow, Tuesday November 4th for the NECC Quarterfinal Round matchup that will take place at Regis Stadium. Kick-off is slated for 4:00 p.m.
