WESTON, Mass. – The 2013 New England Collegiate Conference Champion Regis College women's lacrosse team has announced its upcoming schedule for the 2014 season. The Pride and new head coach Courtney Duggan hope to continue to build on the program's recent success that includes program records for wins the last three seasons.
The Pride get under way early in 2014 as Regis hosts Rivier University on February 26. The Raiders were one of only six losses for the Pride a season ago as they held off a late charge from the Pride for a 15-14 victory.
Regis hits the road for three-straight games from March 1 through March 8 with matchups against Simmons, Johnson & Wales, and Bard. The Pride face the Sharks and Wildcats for the first time in program history, while Regis looks for its first win against the Raptors on March 8 after falling to Bard 17-16 in 2013.
After three on the road, the Pride host three straight home games starting with a March 13 matchup against Emmanuel. The Beavers of Maine-Farmington come to town on March 15, with Thomas wrapping up the homestand on March 20.
Regis begins NECC play on Tuesday March 25 when they travel to Mitchell College as the Mariners join the NECC for the first time in women's lacrosse. After a home game against Saint Joseph's (Maine) on April 3, the Pride continue NECC play on April 5, hitting the road to take on Bay Path College.
Three days later the Pride travel to Salem State University, before returning home to host Framingham State University in a pair of games against MASCAC opponents. The Pride's second to last home game of the semester comes on April 12 with a game against Wheelock College.
The middle of April equals three-straight road games as the Pride travel to Daniel Webster and Elms College for NECC contests on April 15 and 23, while taking on Wentworth on April 17. Regis wraps up the 2014 regular season with a Saturday afternoon matchup against Becker College on April 26. The Pride and Hawks met in the NECC Championship a year ago, a game in which the Pride grabbed a 9-8 victory in overtime for the title.
The NECC Postseason begins on April 30 with the NECC Semifinals, with the NECC Championship to be decided on May 3.
