Zancan’s Standout Senior Season Continues with Third NEWBA Weekly Honor
WESTON, Mass. — Madi Zancan's outstanding senior campaign continued this week as she collected another New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) weekly honor. Zancan was named to the First Team Honor Roll for Week Eight of the 2025–26 season, earning her third weekly accolade of the year and the 12th of her career.
Coming off the bench, Zancan delivered a dominant all-around effort to help lead the Pride to a pair of Great Northeast Athletic Conference road victories, impacting the game on both ends of the floor. Across two contests, she averaged 17.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 4.0 steals, and 2.0 blocks per game, while shooting 73.9 percent from the free-throw line and logging nearly 30 minutes per outing.
The senior opened the week with 15 points and 12 rebounds in a road win at Elms. She followed that performance with her 10th double-double of the season in a nail-biting victory at the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.), where she made the decisive play in the final moments by drawing a double team and finding a teammate for the game-winning basket.
Zancan currently leads the GNAC in scoring and ranks third in the conference in rebounding at 11.2 boards per game, placing her among the top performers in Division III.
