Zancan Earns Fourth GNAC Player of the Week Honor
WESTON, Mass. — Senior Madi Zancan earned her fourth Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week honor this season, the most she has received in a single season during her collegiate career.
Zancan delivered a dominant all-around performance off the bench, helping lead the Pride to a pair of GNAC road victories while filling the stat sheet on both ends of the floor. Over two games, she averaged 17.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 4.0 steals, and 2.0 blocks per contest, while shooting 73.9 percent from the free-throw line and logging nearly 30 minutes per game.
Her impact was especially evident in a 51–49 win at Saint Joseph (Conn.), where Zancan recorded her 10th double-double of the season and made the decisive play in the final moments, drawing a double team before finding a teammate for the game-winning basket. She followed that effort with 15 points and 12 rebounds in a victory at Elms.
Zancan currently leads the GNAC in scoring and ranks third in the conference with 11.2 rebounds per game, placing her among the top performers in Division III.
Zancan and the Pride will look to keep their GNAC win streak alive on Tuesday, January 20, when they travel to cross-town rival Lasell University for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
