Zancan Earns GNAC Player of the Week After Dominant Two-Game Stretch
WESTON, Mass. — Madi Zancan (Cumberland, R.I.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week after averaging a double-double during a 1–1 stretch for the Pride. Zancan averaged 25.5 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 steals across two contests.
The Pride forward put together an outstanding week, opening with a strong all-around performance in a 70-55 win over Anna Maria, recording 19 points, eight rebounds, and five steals on 7-of-13 shooting. She followed that effort with a career-best outing in a hard-fought loss to Salem State, posting 32 points (9-of-11 FG, 14-of-18 FT), 14 rebounds - including nine on the offensive glass - and five steals.
This honor marks the first of Zancan's senior season and fifth GNAC weekly award of her collegiate career.
Zancan and the Pride return to the road on Wednesday, November 19, when they visit UMass Boston, before hosting Mount Holyoke on Saturday, November 22, for their 1 p.m. home opener.
