2018-19 Regis Women's Basketball Schedule
WESTON, Mass. – As the first week of official practice wraps up, the Regis College women's basketball team announces its competition schedule for the 2018-19 season, featuring 10 home games at Higgins Court.
Regis will open the season Friday, Nov. 16 at Bowdoin, followed by a neutral-site contest against Colby in Brunswick, Maine, the following day. After Thanksgiving, the Pride return to action with a road contest at Keene State Sunday, Nov. 25.
The Pride faces Westfield State in the home opener Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 6 p.m., followed by a hiatus of close to two weeks. Regis then plays three games in five days before the holiday break, hosting Fitchburg State Tuesday, Dec. 11, traveling to Framingham State Thursday, Dec. 13, and welcoming Southern Maine to town Saturday afternoon, Dec. 15.
After another two-week break, Regis will participate in the Clark Basketball Holiday Classic, first facing the host Cougars Saturday, Dec. 29, before taking on Wellesley Sunday, Dec. 30. The Pride will start 2019 with a game at Brandeis Tuesday, Jan. 1, followed by a home game against UMass Dartmouth Thursday, Jan. 3, and a quick trip to face Becker Saturday, Jan. 5.
The 12-game GNAC slate begins Tuesday, Jan. 8, with a home game against defending conference champion Saint Joseph's College, followed by a road contest at Emmanuel Thursday, Jan. 10. The Pride will host Norwich Saturday afternoon, Jan. 12, before playing five of the next six games on the road.
The Pride will first play three straight games away from home, traveling to Anna Maria Jan. 17, Lasell Jan. 19, and Suffolk Jan. 22. After hosting Johnson & Wales in a Saturday matinee on Jan. 26, Regis steps out of conference one more time to travel to Bates Tuesday, Jan. 29, and then the Pride head to New London, N.H., to face GNAC newcomer Colby-Sawyer Thursday, Jan. 31.
Regis closes the regular season home schedule with three straight contests at Higgins Court, facing Rivier Feb. 2, Albertus Magnus Feb. 9, and Simmons Feb. 12. The 2018-19 regular season comes to a close with a trip to face St. Joseph Saturday, Feb. 16.
The top eight teams in the GNAC regular season standings will qualify for the GNAC Tournament, starting with the quarterfinals Tuesday, Feb. 19, followed by the semifinals Thursday, Feb. 21, and the championship game Saturday, Feb. 23.
Angela Santa Fe begins her sixth season at the helm of the Regis women's basketball program. She brings a 106-33 record at Regis into the year, earning her 100th career victory in a 58-50 win over Suffolk Jan. 20, 2018. Last season the Pride went 15-11 overall, including 12-4 in the GNAC to finish in a tie for third in the league standings.
