STONE NAMED NECC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Regis College freshman forward Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week in Women’s Basketball it was announced on Monday morning.
WESTON, Mass. – Regis College freshman forward Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week in Women's Basketball it was announced on Monday morning.
During her first three collegiate contests, Stone averaged a double-double with 10.7 points, 10.3 rebounds per game. She recorded double digits in rebounds in two out of her first three games. During her first career collegiate game, she scored nine points, pulled down 11 rebounds and blocked one shot during a 66-60 setback to Salve Regina in the Brandeis Tip-Off Tournament. Stone recorded her first career double-double as she scored a career-best 14 points and again added 11 rebounds during a 20 point victory over Mount Ida. Three days later Stone added nine points, nine rebounds and a block in a three point overtime victory over Suffolk.
The Pride return to action when they travel to conference-foe Mitchell College on Tuesday, December 2nd with tip off slated for 6:00 p.m.
