For the second time this season, freshman forward Amanda Hawkesworth (Abington, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league's offices on Monday morning.
WESTON, Mass. – For the second time this season, freshman forward Amanda Hawkesworth (Abington, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league's offices on Monday morning. Hawkesworth was an instrumental part of the Pride picking up a 59-52 non-conference win over Western Connecticut State on Sunday.
The rookie scored 14 points on 7-for-10 shooting in the win over the Colonials. Hawkesworth added seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals without a turnover in the victory. Through seven games this season, Hawkesworth is averaging 14.1 points per game, 8.9 rebounds per game, 2.4 assists per game, and 1.7 steals per game.
After a short break, Regis (5-2) will be back in action on Monday, Dec. 30 for the CUA Courtyard US Capital Holiday Tournament at Catholic University. The Pride will open up the tournament with a 4 p.m. game against Clark (Mass.).
