A five-run inning in the fifth notched New England’s 11-1 victory, and improved its overall record to 14-11 and 13-9 TCCC. Gabrielle Timms (Clark Summit, Pa./Lakeland) blasted a two-run homerun in the first inning for the Pilgrims first score of the game.

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Hope Benjamin (Rochester, Mass.) went 4-for-5 on the day with a pair of home runs, five runs scored, and 10 RBI, while junior Kendra Abram (Acushnet, Mass.) and freshman Sarah Porteus (South Wellfleet, Mass.) each picked up wins in the circle as the Regis College softball team upped its winning streak to three games with a sweep of Wentworth, 9-4, and 20-4.

Benjamin, a senior, was honored prior to the game as part of Regis' senior day, and was announced as the college's all-time home run leader.

However, Gordon would defeat Regis College 7-2 in game one, and 14-5 in game two of the conference doubleheader.

(Apr. 7) – Senior Kara Buckley (Nashua, N.H.) threw her first career no-hitter in the nightcap to lead the Nichols College softball team to a The Commonwealth Coast Conference sweep of visiting Regis Thursday afternoon. Buckley, who fanned six and walked only one in seven innings, led Nichols to a 7-0 second-game victory after Nichols held off a mid-game Regis rally for a 5-2 win in the opener. The Bison improve to 11-10 overall and 7-3 in TCCC games. Regis falls to 1-24 overall and 0-14 in league play.

WESTON, Mass.—The University of New England scored 12 runs in the third inning to notch a 17-10 game two victory Wednesday over Regis College. The Nor’easters held an eight-run lead (9-1) at the end of five innings to defeat the Pride in game one. The University of New England improved to 11-5 overall and 6-0 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference. Regis College dropped its sixth straight game to fall to 1-18 overall and 0-8 TCCC.

The Regis College softball team will face three tough opponents this week, one with a respectable 9-5 overall record, while the other two are 6-10 and 5-11, respectively. Regis College (1-16, 0-6 TCCC) will host the conference’s top seed the University of New England (9-5, 4-0 TCCC) Wednesday. Saturday it will travel to Roger Williams (5-11, 4-0 TCCC), and then to Curry College (6-10, 3-3 TCCC) on Sunday.

NEWPORT, R.I. – Freshman Jennifer Edine (Warwick, R.I.) drove in three runs in game one and sophomore Jillian Quintana (Denver, Colo.) belted a three-run home run in game two in Salve Regina University’s doubleheader sweep of Regis (Mass.) College in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) softball action Sunday afternoon at Toppa Field. The Seahawks won game one, 8-0, in six innings and game two, 10-0, in five innings.
