Shank Repeats as Setter of the Week, Houatchanthara Doubles Up on Honors
WESTON, Mass. — Following a 1-1 week for the Regis men's volleyball team, Evan Shank and Haden Houatchanthara earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors. Shank collected his third consecutive and sixth overall Setter of the Week award, while Houatchanthara earned his first career honors, being named both Rookie of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week.
Shank continued to lead the Pride offense, totaling 69 assists across the two matches. He opened the week with 27 assists (9.0 assists per set) and five digs in a sweep of Dean, before recording 42 assists (10.5 assists per set) in a four-set loss to Emmanuel. In that match, he also added five kills, nine digs, and two blocks.
Houatchanthara anchored the defensive effort for Regis, finishing the week with 29 digs and 46 receptions. He recorded 15 digs and a perfect 17-for-17 reception performance in the 3-0 win over Dean, then followed with 14 digs and 29 receptions at a .931 reception percentage against Emmanuel.
The Pride will return home for the final time this Wednesday, hosting cross-town rival Lasell University for Senior Night at 7 p.m.
