Shank and Valdes Earn GNAC Weekly Honors after 3-0 Week

WESTON, Mass. – After a perfect week, Regis College men's volleyball juniors Evan Shank and Brandon Valdes have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors. Shank was named Setter of the Week for the fourth time this season, while Valdes earned Defensive Player of the Week - his first of the season and second overall.

Shank totaled 72 assists during a 3-0 week for the Pride. He kicked things off with a 38-assist performance (12.67 per set) against AIC, surpassing the 2,000-assist milestone in his collegiate career. In wins over Vermont State Johnson, he contributed 23 and 11 assists, respectively, while also adding seven digs in each match and eight service aces over the doubleheader.

Valdes anchored the Pride's defense during the unbeaten week. He started with four digs, one block, and eight receptions, then recorded 11 digs and 13 receptions in the first match of a doubleheader, finishing the week with another four-dig effort and nine receptions. Remarkably, he handled all 19 reception attempts without an error, posting a perfect week on receptions.

The Pride are back on the court with a midweek matchup at Wentworth on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
