Men's Volleyball Cruise Past Curry, 3-0
MILTON, Mass -- The Pride men's volleyball team was back in action tonight in another non-conference matchp against the Coloniels of Curry College. Regis would take care of business on the road, sweeping Curry in three straight sets. Tonight's win improves the Pride's record to 9-7 overall.
Adam Bonica would have his presence felt at the net registering 16 kills in tonights short contest while reigning Great Northeast Athletic Conference player of the week Thomas Mccarthy would collect 10 digs.
For Curry, Nyko Whitaker would run the offense, dishing out 18 assists.
How It Happened
The opening frame was tightly contested with multiple ties and lead changes. Curry used kills from Milo Barry Young and Chris Milfort to stay in front early, while Regis answered through Brandon Valdes and John Nangle. Midway through the set, Regis began to gain momentum behind strong right-side production and improved blocking. A late service ace and several Curry attack errors helped Regis close on a decisive run to steal the set.
Regis carried that momentum into the second, creating separation behind consistent offense from Valdes and Adam Bonica. While Curry stayed within striking distance through stretches of solid serving and transition swings, Regis limited mistakes and capitalized on overpasses and attack errors. A mid-to-late set push allowed the Pride to extend the lead and take a 2–0 advantage.
The final set followed a similar pattern, with Regis establishing control early. Strong blocking and efficient side-out play prevented Curry from building sustained runs. Though Curry showed flashes offensively, Regis' balanced attack and steady serving pressure created a comfortable margin down the stretch to secure the sweep
