COACH WRIGHT ANNOUNCES 2014 RECRUITING CLASS
The Regis College men’s volleyball team is proud to announce its 2014 recruiting class. Coach Scott Wright will be welcoming five new additions to the men’s volleyball including Sean Bisnett (Oxnard, Calif.), Jonathan Fuentes (Downey, Calif.), Joseph Hanrahan (Coventry, R.I.), Brian Camilo (Lawrence, Mass.), and transfer Zachary Sindoni (Haverhill, Mass.).
WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College men's volleyball team is proud to announce its 2014 recruiting class. Coach Scott Wright will be welcoming five new additions to the men's volleyball including Sean Bisnett (Oxnard, Calif.), Jonathan Fuentes (Downey, Calif.), Joseph Hanrahan (Coventry, R.I.), Brian Camilo (Lawrence, Mass.), and transfer Zachary Sindoni (Haverhill, Mass.).
Sean Bisnett grew up in California with his mom and dad, Mike and Sara, where most weekends were spent in the ocean or on a volleyball court. His early sports where tae-kwan-do and swimming then later, surfing, scuba diving, and time as a Ventura County Junior Lifeguard. He played in his first beach volleyball tournament and on his first volleyball club team when he was 12 and as a high school freshman and sophomore, he enjoyed playing on the boy's water polo team until volleyball, water polo and grades became too hectic.
Sean played on the Rio Mesa High School (RMHS) Boys Volleyball squad and was a starter on the varsity squad as well as a Scholar Athlete all four years of high school, from 2009-2013. He was the team captain on the Spectrum (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) Volleyball Club 16's.
From 2011-2012 he was honored to be elected team captain, MVP of the Redondo Beach Tournament - Silver Division, MVP of RMHS Varsity Team, First-Team Award for All Pacific View League, First-Team Award for All Ventura County, and First-Team Award for All CIF (Calif. Interscholastic Federation).
In his senior year, he was elected captain for a second time and was also named team MVP, First-Team All Pacific View League Co-MVP, First-Team Award for All Ventura County, and First-Team Award for All CIF.
Jonathan Fuentes comes to Regis after graduating from Don Bosco Tech with honors placing him on the presidents and principals list. He was also given the 'Religion Award' by for his community involvement, all of which led to his Trustee Scholarship award from Regis College.
In the past year on the court, Jon received multiple recognitions including a spot on the 2013 All-Tournament team at the Chadwick Tournament, being selected the Team MVP at Don Bosco, a Second-Team All League selection and was named to participate in the 2013 San Gabriel All Star game.
Joseph Hanrahan joins Regis College from Coventry R.I. where he and his teammates most recently posted an undefeated championship season. Joe is a well proven player with skill sets in all positions for which he has received recognition.
Sophomore year Joe took part in a successful run in the New England Juniors where his team ranked second in the region. He also received All-Tournament selection as a libero. Hanrahan learned a majority of his libero skills with his experience working for Blue Fish Volleyball club and time spent participating on the beach volleyball courts.
Bryan Camilo leaves behind Lawrence High School to join Regis College. A Massachusetts native, Bryan has been an Honor Roll/High Honors Student for the past four years of high school. He has received the LHS English Award - The Bowker Award for demonstrating the highest English level his school offers.
On the court, Bryan was awarded the Merrimack Valley Conference -All Star Award for Men's Volleyball, and also represented Lawrence at the All Star game as a sophomore. Bryan is a dual sport athlete and was also previously ranked top-10 in the state for track in the 1000M race for indoor track and top-15 in the state in cross country.
Camilo was also active in his community and because of his service was given the Humanitarian Award issued by the City of Lawrence for work done in trying to improve safety of youth in the city, after putting in over 300 hours of volunteer work.
Zachary Sindoni transfers to Regis from Northern Essex Community College where he took the time to find his path and focus on academics. While attending Haverhill High School, Zach set records in several categories including career assists, assists per set, and assists per match, as well as lowest error ratio per set.
Sindoni's break out in the sport took full form junior year as he led his team to the State Finals with an undefeated regular season record and was selected All-Conference. Zach's senior year was full of successes as he was awarded two MVP selections at both the conference and state, along with All-Scholastic by the Boston Globe. He took part in leading his team to two MVC titles.
