Thuotte and Mcclain Headline GNAC Postseason Honors
WESTON, Mass. – As announced by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), the Regis men's track & field team earned multiple postseason honors, highlighted by Justin Thuotte being named Field Athlete of the Year and Brock Mcclain earning Rookie of the Year honors. Thuotte completed the indoor and outdoor sweep of the award, while Brock Mcclain earned his first major award following his standout performance at the GNAC Championships. Team captain Michael Hatch was selected as Regis' representative on the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team, and as a program, the Pride earned the GNAC Institutional Sportsmanship Award.
Thuotte secured Field Athlete of the Year honors following a dominant championship meet, capturing the GNAC title in the shot put. He added three runner-up finishes in the high jump, long jump, and hammer throw, along with a third-place finish in the triple jump. Throughout the season, Thuotte competed at an elite level, highlighted by resetting his own program record in the high jump with a mark of 1.90 meters at the Regis Classic. The award marks the second time in his career that he has swept both the indoor and outdoor Field Athlete of the Year honors. A 26-time All-GNAC selection, Thuotte concludes his career as one of the most decorated student-athletes in program history, holding six program records.
Mcclain delivered a breakout performance at the GNAC Championships, winning the discus by nearly three meters while setting a personal best. He also earned a bronze medal in the shot put with another personal-best mark and added a third personal record in the hammer throw. His performances rank among the top all-time marks by a first-year in program history. Mcclain becomes the first Regis student-athlete to earn Rookie of the Year honors since Thuotte, continuing the program's strong tradition in the field events.
Hatch's selection to the All-Sportsmanship Team reflects his leadership and character throughout the season. A consistent presence for the Pride, he set the tone for the team with his respect for competitors, commitment to his teammates, and representation of the program with integrity both on and off the track. The honor marks the second of his career, as he also earned All-Sportsmanship recognition during the winter season of his sophomore year.
