Men's Tennis Blanks Lesley On Senior Day
On Senior Day at the Regis Courts, the Regis College men's tennis team blanked Lesley University in New England Collegiate Conference action on a chilly Wednesday afternoon. The Pride improve to 12-6 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the NECC while the Lynx drop to 0-8 in both conference and overall.
WESTON, Mass. – On Senior Day at the Regis Courts, the Regis College men's tennis team blanked Lesley University in New England Collegiate Conference action on a chilly Wednesday afternoon. The Pride improve to 12-6 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the NECC while the Lynx drop to 0-8 in both conference and overall.
The match was Senior Day for Austin Nace Sarasota, Fla.) who was honored prior to the match for his service to Pride men's tennis. The four-year letterwinner competed in third doubles with partner Nick Hildreth (Harvard, Mass.), beating the Lesley pair of Devon Mayo (Newport News, Va.) and Pierre St. Simon (Farmingdale, N.Y.).
The Pride would dominate the competition, losing only one game the entire match. Chris Harrow defeated Niko Marcolini (Newbury, Mass.) at one singles 6-0, 6-1, surrendering just the one game in the sweep.
With the match at hand for the Pride, Jack Alaev (Moscow, Russia) and St. Simon played an eight-game pro set won by Aleav to close the competition.
Regis retakes the court on Saturday, April 16 hosting Wheelock at 1:00 p.m. with Lesley hosting Curry College Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
