PRIDE DROP 9-0 DECISION TO ASHFORD
In their final match of spring break play, the Regis College men's tennis team fell to Ashford University, 9-0 on Friday.
HILTON HEAD, S.C. – In their final match of spring break play, the Regis College men's tennis team fell to Ashford University, 9-0 on Friday. The Pride drop to 0-7 on the year, while the Saints improve to 6-3.
Luis Castillo (Caracas, Venezuela) and Pavao Krzelj (Split, Croatia) of Ashford defeated the Pride at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively, and teamed up to win in No. 1 doubles play to lead the Saints.
Castillo beat Andy White (Bozeman, Mont.) (6-0, 6-0) at No. 2 singles, while Krzelj defeated Sophorn Nop (Lowell, Mass.) (6-0, 6-0) at No. 3 singles. The pair took down White and Jeff Parrish (Framingham, Mass.) in doubles play, 8-2.
Regis will return to Weston, Mass. for a two game homestand, which begins with Emerson at 4:30 p.m. on March 13.
