Men's Swim and Dive Compete in Day Two of Regis Invitational
WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College men's swim and dive team welcomed Keene State back to Regis Pool on Saturday for the final day of the Regis Invitational.
Gavin Olsen (South Portland, Maine) secured the Pride's first event win of the day in the 200 freestyle, touching nearly five seconds ahead of the field at 2:03.83. Andrew Martin (Raynham, Mass.) followed with a time of 2:10.18.
Aryaman Nagaraj (Watertown, Mass.) claimed victories in both the 100 backstroke and the 100 freestyle, posting times of 1:01.31 and 50.65, respectively. His freestyle swim marks the fastest by a member of the Pride this season. Ryan Kim (Los Angeles, Calif.) added another top finish for the Pride, winning the 200 breaststroke in a season-best 2:17.79, while also earning runner-up in the 100 individual medley at 59.03.
The quartet of Olsen, Kim, Martin, and Michael Zammuto (Burlington, Mass.) closed the meet with a season-best 1:38.46 in the 200 freestyle relay. The relay also capped Olsen's seventh event of the day.
The Pride now have time to recover heading into winter break as they prepare for a training trip to Puerto Rico to begin the new year.
