Regis Outstanding Male Freshman Student-Athlete of the Year
... At GNAC Championships, won 50 butterfly (23.23) and 100 butterfly (52.41), plus finished second in 100 freestyle (49.37) ... Also part of victorious 200 medley relay (1:42.47) and 400 medley relay (3:45.26) as well as second-place 200 freestyle relay (1:33.34) ... At NEISDA Championships, finished second in 50 butterfly (23.24), third in 100 butterfly (51.76), and fifth in 50 freestyle (21.81), plus part of top-seven finishes in 200 freestyle relay (1:31.33), 400 freestyle relay (3:25.09), 200 medley relay (1:42.92), and 400 medley relay (3:46.31) ... Two-time GNAC Men's Athlete of the Week and five-time GNAC Men's Rookie of the Week ... Two-time NEISDA Male Swimmer of the Week. 

Banrey competed for four years in both swimming and track & field at Boston Latin High School. He was a two-time team MVP in swimming and qualified for both Division I Sectionals and the MIAA Division I State Championships in 2017 and 2018. During his senior season, he finished fourth at Sectionals and seventh at the state championships.

Banrey swam for the Dolphin Swim Club from 2010 to 2016.

Banrey, nicknamed "GC", was born in Dorchester, Mass. His parents are Sonia Gomez-Banrey and Eduardo Banrey Rivera. He has three older siblings, two brothers named Antonio and Eduardo and a sister named Sonia. He is majoring in history with an education focus.
