Swimming & Diving Garners Nine All-New England Honors
After a successful at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association championships, the Regis (Mass.) men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams earned nine spots on the All-New England Team.
WESTON, Mass. – After a successful run at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association championships, the Regis (Mass.) men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned nine spots on the All-New England Team.
Amanda Graf (Newton, Mass.), Jessica Higgins (Peabody, Mass.), Sara Leonard (Brockton, Mass.), Gloria Sutton (Suffield, Conn.) and diver Elisabeth McQuaid (Marlborough, Mass.) were named to the women's team with Cassidy Bastianelli (Newton, Mass.), Bryan Johnson (Sudbury, Mass.), Kiet Luong (Malden, Mass.) and Nicholas Rainville (Reading, Mass.) earning the honor on the men's side.
The NEISDA Championships took place February 16-19 2017 at the University of Rhode Island. The All-New England Team selections which required a top 8 individual or a top 4 relay placement.
The men finished in sixth place out of 12 teams, and the women finished sixth out of 20, the best finish at the event in program history. Both the men's and women's 400 yard freestyle relay teams set school records on the day, with the men earning ECAC qualifying times with their finish. The men finished the race second with a time of 3:08.81, missing out on taking home the first place finish by just under half a second. The women finished sixth in the event, recording a time of 3:43.80.
