Klein and Cabassa Recognized with GNAC Honors
WESTON, Mass. — As announced by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), senior Nick Klein earned First Team All-Conference honors, while teammate Matt Cabassa represented the Pride on the All-Sportsmanship Team. With the GNAC no longer sponsoring an All-Rookie Team, Klein's selection marks the program's first All-Conference honor of the GNAC era and its first since the 2017 season in the NECC.
Klein put together a historic 2025–26 campaign, starting all 14 games and tallying a career-best 50 goals and 13 assists for 63 points, along with seven man-up goals. His 50 goals set a new single-season program record, and he also established a single-game record with a 10-goal performance against Colby-Sawyer.
He recorded a hat trick in 10 of his 14 appearances, including six games with four or more goals. In addition to his record-setting 10-goal outing, Klein posted a pair of five-goal, one-assist performances and opened the season with seven points (three goals, four assists) in a win over Anna Maria. His efforts helped lead the Pride to their first GNAC playoff appearance and the most conference wins in program history.
Klein's impact extended beyond this season, as he finished his career ranked second all-time in goals (120) and third in points (151), cementing his place among the top players in program history.
Cabassa earned All-Sportsmanship Team honors after serving as a key contributor at the faceoff position. He ranks second all-time in program history in faceoff wins and set a new single-game record with a perfect 16-for-16 performance against Colby-Sawyer. Beyond his success on the field, Cabassa's recognition highlights his leadership, respect for the game, and commitment to competing with integrity throughout the season.
Together, Klein and Cabassa's honors reflect a strong step forward for the program, and highlights the strong impact that this senior class has made on the program.
