How it Happened
Both teams struggled offensively through the early minutes of the contest, trading missed shots. Regis then capitalized on Elm's mistakes, with Ned Fitzpatrick and Tyrone Chinn contributing steals that led to transition baskets. Fitzpatrick finished at the rim off a Jaiden Soberanis assist, helping Regis build a 9–3 advantage. The Blazers answered with baskets of their own, but midway through the half, the Pride would tie the game at 16–16 and then regained the lead behind Chinn's hustle plays, including a putback that made it 18–16. However, Elms closed the half with a decisive run sending Regis into the break trailing 32–25.
Regis came out of halftime looking to chip away at the seven-point deficit, but early offensive struggles and missed free throws allowed Elms to maintain control. The Pride found a brief rhythm midway through the half behind interior scoring from Jamir Harvey and Rob Elliott, trimming the margin to six after consecutive baskets made it 31–37. Elms responded with timely jumpers from RJ Mayfield and continued to punish turnovers, extending the lead back to double digits and forcing a Regis timeout. Hustle on the glass kept Regis competitive down the stretch, but Elms closed out the game at the free-throw line and with timely interior scoring. Regis battled until the final buzzer, ultimately falling 65–55.
