PRIDE SELECTED SECOND IN NECC COACHES POLL
The Regis College men's basketball team has been picked to finish second in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) this season, according to the NECC Preseason Poll.
WESTON, Mass. - The Regis College men's basketball team has been projected to finish second in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) this season, according to the NECC Preseason Poll. Placement is determined by a vote amongst the league's coaches.
Regis earned 70 points, including one first place vote, to take the second spot in the poll. The Pride finished last season with a 13-15 overall record, which was highlighted by eight straight victories and an appearance in the NECC Championship game to close out the year.
Elms, the reigning NECC Champions, narrowly edged Regis for the top spot after picking up 71 points and five first place votes. Mitchell, which placed third with 68 points, was the only other school to receive first place votes (3).
Becker was picked fourth after garnering 48 points, while Newbury was not far behind in fifth with 46 points.
Daniel Webster (44), Lesley (27), Southern Vermont (20), and Wheelock (11) make up the bottom portion of the poll, respectively.
