Cochrane's Two Goals Lift Regis to Regis Fest Win, 3-1
WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College field hockey team was back in action on September 27, 2025, when they triumphed over Albertus Magnus College with a decisive 3-1 victory.
Izzy Cochrane (Hooksett, N.H.) lead the Pride's offense with two goals, Ava Costello (North Easton, Mass.) added a goal and assist of her own, and Hailey Ducharme (Millville, Mass.) rounded out the score sheet with an assist.
How it Happened
The contest opened with Cochrane quickly asserting dominance, netting two goals within eight minutes. The first came unassisted, and the second, assisted by Ava Costello. Regis's offensive pressure continued nonstop throughout the game, spearheaded by players like Ava Costello and Gabrielle Tolman, who led the team in shots with three each.
In the third quarter, Ava Costello further extended Regis's lead by scoring their third goal, assisted by Hailey Ducharme. Albertus Magnus struggled to break through Regis's defense for most of the match, only managing to find the back of the net in the fourth quarter. Laurel Maus, in a concerted effort, scored an unassisted goal at the 52 minute mark, marking Albertus Magnus's sole tally of the game and solidifying the 3-1 decision at Regis Stadium.
