Regis Field Hockey Finalizes 2022 Competition Schedule
2022 REGIS COLLEGE FIELD HOCKEY SCHEDULE
WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College field hockey team will play 16 regular season matches during the 2022 competition season, including eight contests on campus at Regis Stadium.
The Pride open the season at Eastern Connecticut State Saturday, Sept. 3, followed by five of the next six matches on their home turf. That stretch starts with a non-conference match against Framingham State Tuesday, Sept. 6, with Albertus Magnus serving as the first conference opponent for Regis Saturday, Sept. 10, at Regis Stadium.
Regis will face Clark University for the first time in seven years Tuesday, Sept. 13, followed by a trip to take on UMass Dartmouth Thursday, Sept. 15. The Pride conclude the non-conference portion of their schedule against Mount Holyoke Wednesday night, Sept. 21.
The field hockey team opens the Regis Fest tripleheader on the turf against Dean Saturday, Sept. 24, before playing six of its next seven matches away from home, starting at Saint Joseph's College Wednesday, Sept. 28. The Pride starts October at Elms Saturday, Oct. 1, before hosting Rivier Tuesday night, Oct. 4.
A four-match road swing sees Regis traveling to face University of Saint Joseph Friday, Oct. 7, Anna Maria Wednesday, Oct. 12, defending GNAC champion Johnson and Wales Saturday, Oct. 15, and Lasell Wednesday, Oct. 19. The Pride close the regular season with home matches against Simmons Saturday, Oct. 22, and Colby-Sawyer Wednesday, Oct. 26.
The top eight teams in the final regular season standings will qualify for the GNAC Field Hockey Tournament, commencing with the quarterfinals Saturday, Oct. 29. The semifinals are scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 2, and the championship match will take place Saturday, Nov. 5, with the winner receiving the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
The Pride aim to improve from a three-win 2021 season that featured a thrilling double-overtime win over Anna Maria as well as convincing victories over Dean and Albertus Magnus late in the schedule.
Regis College sponsors 20 intercollegiate sports, including field hockey, within NCAA Division III as part of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.
