FIELD HOCKEY PICKED AS NECC PRESEASON FAVORITE
The Regis College field hockey team has been selected as the unanimous preseason favorite according to the 2014 New England Collegiate Conference Field Hockey Coaches Poll. The Pride received all six first place votes in a poll conducted amongst the league’s head coaches.
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The Regis College field hockey team has been selected as the unanimous preseason favorite according to the 2014 New England Collegiate Conference Field Hockey Coaches Poll. The Pride received all six first place votes in a poll conducted amongst the league's head coaches.
Regis has appeared in two of the three NECC Championship games since joining the league in 2011, and are searching for their first championship since 2011. The Pride fell in the championship game last year in overtime to now departed Anna Maria College.
Regis returns 14 players from last season's squad including All-NECC selections Raegan Heck (Phillipston, Mass.) and Sashae Walls (Everett, Mass.).
Elms College was picked second in the preseason poll, followed by Becker, Wheelock, Bay Path, and Daniel Webster.
