REGIS FIELD HOCKEY ANNOUNCES 2013 SCHEDULE

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College field hockey team has announced its 2013 schedule today. The Pride are looking to rebound from a 3-14 season in 2012 and are just one year removed from a New England Collegiate Conference Championship.

Regis opens 2013 with a game on the road at Mount Holyoke on August 31 before returning home to take on Framingham State University on Wednesday, September 4. The Pride continue non-conference play with back-to-back road games versus Wheaton College and Simmons College. The Sharks snuck past Regis in overtime in 2012, posting a 2-1 victory over the Pride on September 11.

In the last half of the month of September, the Pride play five of their six games here in Weston, Mass., starting with a three-game home stand where Regis will take on Lasell College on Saturday, September 14, before taking on Fitchburg State University and former CCC foe Colby-Sawyer College. Regis hits the road on Saturday, September 21 to take on Johnson & Wales, before wrapping up the month with home games versus Gordon and Clark University.

The Pride open the month of October with a road contest versus Rivier University, a team the Pride defeated 4-1 this past season.

Regis then enters New England Collegiate Conference play on the road at Becker on October 5. The past two NECC Champions meet on Tuesday, October 8 as the Pride welcome 2012 NECC Champion Anna Maria College to Weston, Mass. The two teams met in the 2011 NECC Championship with Regis grabbing a 3-1 win in the final game.

Following a road game at Daniel Webster on October 12, the Pride return home the week of October 16 for two NECC games, hosting Wheelock College on the 16th and Bay Path College on Saturday the 19th. Regis steps out of league play on October 23rd, and wrap up the regular season with a 12:00 p.m. game versus Elms College on October 26.

The NECC Tournament begins with the NECC Semifinals on October 30 and the NECC Championship follows three days later on November 2.
