Regis Athletics Celebrates National Athletic Training Month
WESTON, Mass. — During National Athletic Training Month (NATM), Regis College Athletics proudly celebrates the dedicated individuals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to support the health, safety, and success of Pride student-athletes. The Regis sports medicine staff - led by Assistant Athletic Director and Head Athletic Trainer Ron LeClair, alongside athletic trainer Sharon Millett and Emma Mitchell - serve as an essential foundation of the department, providing care, guidance, and unwavering support each and every day.
Now entering his ninth year in 2025-26, Ron LeClair has become a cornerstone of Regis Athletics. Through his leadership of the sports medicine department and his collaboration with campus partners, LeClair has helped foster a culture centered on student-athlete well-being. His commitment extends far beyond the sidelines, ensuring that every student-athlete has the resources and care needed to perform at their best.
LeClair's impact has not gone unnoticed, earning him the inaugural Jason Behenna Legacy Award from SAAC in spring 2025 as well as the Life Saver Award from the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment in 2023. His dedication, expertise, and compassion continue to shape the experience of countless Pride student-athletes.
In her second year with the Regis athletic training staff, Sharon Millett has quickly made a meaningful impression through her hands-on approach and wide-ranging expertise. She provides comprehensive care across multiple programs, supporting student-athletes through every stage of their journey from prevention and preparation to recovery and return to play. Millett's attention to detail and genuine care for each individual make her an invaluable part of the Regis community.
Joining the staff this year is Emma Mitchell, who brings fresh energy and enthusiasm to the sports medicine team. Mitchell's addition further strengthens a group that is deeply committed to creating a safe, supportive, and high-performing environment for all Pride student-athletes.
Whether on the practice field, in the training room, or behind the scenes, the Regis athletic training staff plays a vital role in every success story. Their long hours, expert care, and genuine investment in student-athletes embody the very best of Regis Athletics.
Throughout National Athletic Training Month and beyond, Regis Athletics extends its sincere gratitude to these dedicated professionals for the care, passion, and commitment they bring to the Pride each day.
National Athletic Training Month is held every March to raise awareness of athletic trainers - licensed health care professionals who prevent, diagnose, and treat injuries and medical conditions. The 2026 tagline, chosen by members on social media, is "Care You Can Count On," a message that reflects the consistent and trusted presence athletic trainers provide to their student-athletes and teams.
