Chilton, DeAngelis Join Regis Athletic Training Staff
WESTON, Mass. – Ron LeClair, Regis College Assistant Athletic Director and Head Athletic Trainer, has announced that Alexis Chilton and Emily DeAngelis have joined the Pride athletic training staff as assistant athletic trainers, starting August 2, 2021.
In May, Chilton received her Master of Science degree in exercise and sports science from Merrimack College after completing her graduate fellowship in athletic training. At Merrimack, she coordinated care for the men's soccer and women's lacrosse teams. Chilton was also involved in the collaboration and implementation of COVID-19 protocol for athletes during treatment, practice, and in the athletic complex.
Chilton received her Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from the University of Delaware in 2020. During her undergraduate career, she worked with several Delaware athletic squads, including cross country/track & field, men's lacrosse, women's volleyball, and women's soccer. She also traveled to SRH Hochschule in Heidelberg, Germany, for a study abroad class entitled International Perspective of Sports Medicine.
"I'm excited to have Alexis on our staff. She brings a different background to this position having graduated from an athletic training program outside of New England. Her experience in the lacrosse world and desire to continue to progress as a professional should be a great fit and will be welcomed by our department staff and student-athletes," LeClair said.
DeAngelis spent five years as a member of the athletic training staff at Bridgewater State University, first as a graduate assistant before moving into a full-time role in December 2017. She provided athletic training services for the football, men's wrestling, women's softball, swimming & diving, and tennis teams. A Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), she also designed strength and conditioning programs for the equestrian, softball, tennis, cross country, women's lacrosse, soccer, swimming & diving, and volleyball teams.
DeAngelis received her Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from Lasell in 2016 and her Master of Science degree in physical education, concentrating in strength and conditioning, from Bridgewater State in 2017. At Lasell, she was a four-year letterwinner in softball, serving as team captain in her senior year.
"It is always exciting to invite a former GNAC athlete to our staff, as that insight into the way athletes are feeling is something that I think benefits us as a staff and our student-athletes," continued LeClair. "Emily's experiences with high volume and high collision sports will serve her well as we care for the student-athletes in our 20 programs. Her strength and conditioning background will also be an asset."
Regis College sponsors 20 intercollegiate sports within NCAA Division III as part of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.
