Regis Athletics Welcomes New Staff Members
WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College athletics department is pleased to welcome three new staff members who will undertake administrative duties within the intercollegiate sports program.
Anthony Casparriello joins the Pride as the assistant sports information director after graduating from Worcester State University with a bachelor's degree in communication. He worked under former Regis assistant SID Curtis Fraser in the Lancer sports information office as a student intern, recording statistics as well as posting to Worcester State's social media accounts and creating game programs, gameday graphics, and videos. A defensive lineman for the Lancer football team, Casparriello received the Joseph R. Mewhiney Scholar-Athlete Football Award, the Rich Korzec Athletic Service Award, and the MASCAC All-Sportsmanship Award.
Morgan Mercier takes over the role of assistant of athletic administration, coming to Regis after graduating from fellow GNAC school Emmanuel College with his bachelor's degree in business management, concentrating in sports management. Mercier, a two-sport student-athlete for the Saints in soccer and lacrosse, was a finalist for the 2021 GNAC Man of the Year Award. He served as the GNAC's representative on the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and interned at the GNAC office during the Fall 2020 semester. Captain of both Emmanuel soccer and lacrosse in 2020-21, he also interned within the Saint athletics department for the past year, assisting with day-to-day operations.
Benjamin Youngmark comes from the University of Kansas to become the Pride's coordinator of game operations. From January to July, Youngmark worked for Sport Management Associates LLC, overseeing event operations for client events around the Kansas City metro area. He helped plan and execute the Great American Basketball League All-Star Weekend. Youngmark also served as the desk assistant at the Jayhawk Tennis Center since December 2018. Graduating with his bachelor's degree in sport management with a minor in business, Youngmark was also a part of the Marching Jayhawks, performing during University of Kansas sporting events.
Regis College sponsors 20 intercollegiate sports within NCAA Division III as part of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.
