Dates for 2009-10 season auditions:

Location: Regis College Dance Studio

> General Information:

·      All participants must be currently enrolled or have applied to the College. Those currently enrolled at Regis College must attach a copy of their fall schedule. It is highly recommended your application be submitted as soon as possible. It is a lengthy process and you will not be allowed to participate without this information.

·      Spirit Squad tryout application forms (.pdf) must be received by the Tuesday prior to the tryout. No Exceptions.

·      If you are under 18, your Ruckus and “Rascal” applications must be signed by guardian in order to participate.

·      Applicants must provide and attach a copy of front and back of insurance card to participate in the clinics and tryouts.

·      Attendance at all of the clinics is mandatory for all those intending on trying out.

·      All portions of tryouts are closed to the public: only applicants, current mascots, coaching, and athletic department staff will be allowed inside.

·      Tryout attire should be t-shirts and shorts (only Regis College). Note that you will be wearing a Ruckus suit for a part of the process, so applicants are encouraged to bring a change of clothes as well as a towel. No jewelry or body piercing will be allowed.

·      Evaluators will consist of the coaching staff, spirit coordinator, and athletic department administrators. The purpose of the tryout is to choose the best all-around representatives for Regis College athletics.

·      Mascot positions are filled on an as-needed basis. Generally, four mascots are needed each academic year. Ruckus attends almost all athletic home events, and travels to some away events in postseason play.

About the Clinics and Final Selection

High school seniors and Regis College students are eligible and encouraged to tryout. Ruckus participates at Regis College basketball games, volleyball, and softball. In addition, he also participates in numerous college functions as well as community and corporate sponsor events.

On day 1, we will discuss the commitments of being an Regis College mascot as well as learn his character.

On day 2, will consist of more practice on the character, walk and mingling with the public. Final selections will be made.

Applications are due the Tuesday prior to tryouts along with proof of admissions to Regis College and insurance information.
