HOUSTON – Regis head men's and women's tennis coach John Ciarleglio has been honored by the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) for outstanding participation in the association's continuing education program. The announcement came from the USPTA headquarters.

Ciarleglio was appointed as the first men's tennis coach in May of 2008 and in May 2010 became the head coach of both the Regis men's and women's tennis programs. He is the winningest coach in Regis women's tennis history and holds 11 league titles between the two programs.
Coach Ciarleglio began playing tennis at age 30, learning by taking private lessons, participating in weekly clinics and other tennis training opportunities. He attended the adult camp at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, Bradenton, FL, in December 1985. Ciarleglio was also awarded a Level I Certificate of Achievement by the USPTA and is a past recipient of the Tennis Pro of the Year award for the New England Area (2011).
